Temporary addresses and messages expire when the inbox does. Do not use one as long-term storage for important accounts.
Privacy and data boundaries
Short-term email, with clear data practices
This policy explains what data TempRouter processes when providing disposable inboxes and logged-in forwarding, why we process it, how long we keep it, and how to contact us. Last updated: September 17, 2026.
Delivery records for logged-in users are kept for up to 30 days to show delivery status and troubleshoot delivery issues.
We do not sell your email address or message content, and we do not build advertising profiles from message bodies.
What information we process
When you create a disposable email address, we process the random address, email token, expiration time, and messages delivered to it. This data lets you view the inbox, open and delete messages, and extend the inbox lifetime. You do not need to provide your name.
When you use long-term forwarding, we process your receiving email address, verification-code login status, aliases you create, forwarded messages, and delivery results. If you enable two-step verification, we also process your authenticator key and confirmation status. Support requests include information you voluntarily send to support@temprouter.com.
Retention and deletion
Disposable email data is generally kept until the current inbox expires or is replaced or deleted. Once an inbox expires, its address and messages cannot be recovered, so save anything important to a controlled environment before the expiration time.
Email archives for forwarding accounts are retained for up to 30 days. Security logs are kept only as long as needed to prevent abuse and troubleshoot problems. Legal requirements, fraud investigations, or system backups may briefly delay deletion, but we limit their use and access.
| Data category | Primary purpose | Typical retention |
|---|---|---|
| Temporary address and messages | Receive and read email for a short time | While the inbox is active |
| Receiving address and aliases | Verification-code login and email forwarding | While the account is active |
| Forwarding delivery records | Check status and troubleshoot issues | Up to 30 days |
| Necessary access logs | Security, abuse prevention, and reliability | Short term, as needed for the purpose |
Access, correction, and deletion choices
You can replace or destroy a disposable inbox, delete individual messages, pause or delete forwarding aliases, and disable two-step verification in the dashboard. Temporary mode is not tied to an identity; once an inbox is destroyed, we generally cannot verify ownership or restore its content.
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of data associated with a logged-in account, contact support from the account email address. We may require reasonable verification to avoid giving information to someone without authorization.
Security, children, and policy updates
We use access controls, protection in transit, and least-privilege measures to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, but no internet service can promise absolute security. Do not use disposable email for payments, medical information, legal documents, account recovery, or other sensitive matters.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age set by law in their location. If this policy changes materially, we will update the date on this page. For questions about this policy, contact support@temprouter.com.
