Verification troubleshooting

Verification code not arriving? Check delivery step by step

Most issues come from a mistyped address, too many requests, delivery queues, or an expired mailbox. Keep the current address, check each possibility, and only then decide whether to resend.

0–3 minutes

Wait and refresh your inbox first. Don’t request another verification code repeatedly.

3–10 minutes

Check the full address, the sender’s confirmation, and how much time remains on the mailbox.

Over 10 minutes

Extend the address and try once more. If it still fails, the sender may be blocking it.

Six checks from address to sender

Checking in order helps prevent a simple typo from turning into repeated rate limits. Finish each step before moving on; don’t change the address, resend, and close the page at the same time.

  1. 1Copy and check the address
Compare the complete address shown in your inbox with the website form character by character, paying special attention to dots, hyphens, and the domain.
  2. 2Confirm that submission succeeded
Check that the website clearly says “Sent.” If it remains in a field-validation state, the email may never have been generated.
  3. 3Allow time for delivery
Email systems may queue messages for several minutes. Wait and refresh your inbox instead of clicking resend every few seconds.
  4. 4Check the mailbox lifetime
If little time remains, extend the current mailbox first so the address does not expire while the message is in transit.
  5. 5Retry only once
When the platform allows it, request one new verification code and use the code in the latest email.
  6. 6Identify domain restrictions
If the platform explicitly rejects disposable email, use an email address you control long term instead of constantly creating new ones.

Locate the problem from the symptoms

What you see Most likely cause Next step
Website does not show “Sent” Field validation or request failure Correct the form and submit again
Shows sent, but no email after several minutes Delivery queue or mistyped address Check the address and keep waiting
Old verification code arrived but is invalid A new request invalidated the old code Use the latest email by subject and time
Clear message that the mailbox is unsupported Sender blocks disposable domains Use a long-term email address
Old emails disappear after changing addresses The old mailbox was destroyed Return to the sender, update the address, and resend

How to resend without triggering rate limits

Wait until the page countdown ends before resending, and keep the mailbox address unchanged. Many systems accept only the most recently generated code, so repeated requests can invalidate an older email just as it arrives.

If the page says requests are too frequent, stop and wait for the restriction to lift. Switching browsers or repeatedly creating addresses will not fix the sender’s rate limit and may make the process harder to track.

When a disposable mailbox won’t work

Some banks, payment services, work accounts, and high-risk platforms actively block disposable email. This is the sender’s access policy, not an inbox failure, and you should not try to bypass it.

For long-term account recovery, billing notices, manual reviews, or approvals spanning multiple days, use a long-term email address or a dedicated forwarding alias. A short-lived address is suited to one-time confirmation, not proof of account ownership.

Confirmed the address and waiting time?

Return to your inbox and refresh once. If the email is still missing, resend only once.
